If you are thinking about remodeling your kitchen, Anthony’s Closets has some ideas. We’ve brought you some ideas in previous posts. Here are a few more ways to get more from your kitchen.
Zoning isn’t just a function of government. You zone your house. You have a bathroom, a bedroom, a laundry room or area and a kitchen. Subdivide the kitchen. This is easy to do. Just group like things in one area. Plates, dishes and cups in one place. Small appliances away from them. Put mixing bowls, big spoons and measuring cups near the appliances.
- More water
This will take some work, but it is SO handy. Have a high-mount faucet over the stove. Now you don’t have to haul heavy pots of water from the sink to the stove. The faucet runs cold water only, so only one line is needed. It swivels on a base just off the wall, so it folds out of the way when not in use. After you put in one these, you’ll wonder how you lived without it.
- Get in the hood
You need a range hood, but it doesn’t have to be a giant piece of metal. You can get creative with paint and a covering for the hood. It can look like a chimney or just about anything else you can imagine.
Crown molding is a minor detail until you see the difference it makes around custom closet cabinets and support structures. Crown molding is cheap compared to the difference it will make in your kitchen. It comes in many styles and plain wood can be painted or stained to match the rest of your kitchen.
- Add color
Most people think of a kitchen as being white or muted tones. Why? Add some sizzle with some bright colors. If you are a major sports fan, paint the island one color and have chairs in the other team color.
- Ceiling support
Look like a pro with ceiling-hung racks for pots, pans and ladles. It keeps these out of the way, but at hand immediately any time you need them. Plus, it frees up valuable cabinet, shelf and drawer space.
